NEET 2020 – Frequently Asked Questions
1.What is the mode of NEET 2020 exam?
NEET 2020 is a pen-paper test conducted in the offline
mode wherein OMR sheets must be filled with answers.
2. Will NEET 2020 be conducted twice?
No. NEET is so far conducted annually. Officially, no
statement has been passed suggesting otherwise. NEET 2020 is to take place on
26th July
3. Is there any limit to the number of attempts for
NEET exams?
Up till now, the maximum number of attempts was three
in number. But from NEET 2020 onwards, there has been no such restriction on
the number of attempts provisionally. The matter is still in court for the
same. Candidates above 25 years of age can provisionally take up NEET
considering the present situation of the matter being in court and decision
pending.
4. Can I appear for NEET exams if I have a year gap
between class 11 & 12?
Yes, you can appear for NEET exams with a year gap. The
previously set out amendment by the MCI was revoked by Delhi High Court wherein
now candidates with a gap of a year can appear for NEET 2020.
5. What are the basic eligibility criteria for NEET
2020?
Candidates must ensure they meet the following criteria
compulsorily:
- Must
have attained 17 years of age as on December 31, 2020. If born on December
31st, 2002, that is also considered.
- Must
have completed class 12 or equivalent exams from a centrally recognised or
state board with major subjects being – Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
- Qualifying
marks – general category – 50% for SC/ST/OBC, it is 40%
- OCIs,
PIOs, NRIs and foreign nationals can apply
